You know the drill by now.
1. Psychologist (I am actually interested in what makes people tick, but only insofar as it helps my work as an...)
2. Actor (woo-hoo!)
3. Special Effects Technician
4. Costume Designer
5. Addictions Counselor
6. Dancer
7. Comedian (Thought about it once. Too chicken to try it at the moment.)
8. Sport Psychology Consultant
9. Professional Athlete
10. Composer
11. Musician
12. Marriage and Family Therapist
13. Set Designer
14. Child and Youth Worker
15. Desktop Publisher (...what?)
16. Cartoonist / Comic Illustrator
17. Animator (One of the things I 'wanted to be' when I was little)
18. Critic (I am getting a little better at not liking everything I see, so maybe XD)
19. Print Journalist (naah)
20. Artist (vague much?)
21. Writer
22. Translator (あなたは日本語を話せますか。)
23. Medical Illustrator
24. Anthropologist
25. Gerontologist (dictionary.com: "the branch of science that deals with aging and the problems of aged persons." Apparently I got this because I was interested in "Helping others with their social and personal problems" and "Considering the feelings, views or behavior of others.")
26. Industrial Designer
27. Potter
28. Activist (that's a career?)
29. Social Worker
30. Casting Director
31. Rehabilitation Counselor
32. Genetic Counselor
33. Humanitarian Aid Worker
34. Religious Worker (PAGAN religious worker. Oooh.)
35. Director of Photography
36. Nursery / Greenhouse Grower
37. Mediator (that's a career?)
38. Model (I like how this one showed up only after I entered my level of education. Models need college degrees now?)
39. Community Worker
40. Communications Specialist

So in one way or another it seems I'm meant to either be creative or help people with their problems. I can dig it.

Speaking of jobs, I'm about to apply for my first-ever actual employment at Urban Outfitters. Wish me luck!

Ahahahaha, let me tell you a story.

Fourth grade, man, it all came together for me. I'd decided I wanted to create comics and cartoon shows and stuff. (A somewhat nebulously defined goal, spawning from too many Saturday morning cartoons and, in my younger years, afternoon Ghostbusters / Ninja Turtles extended toy commercials.)

I'm talking, like, pretty hardcore output here; I'd draw terrible and unfunny funnybooks with colored pencils and markers in my basement, and me and my friend created some poorly disguised TMNT-knockoff characters (mutant bobcats, long story) with the intent to create a franchise or something.

ANYWAY

It didn't occur to me until well into my college career that, wait, I'd made some animated films and made a bit of a careerish thing of it; I'd totally accomplished my fourth grade goal on some level, and it had passed so unremarkably that I'd never even noticed. I had dishonored my fourth-grade self, and that really depressed and disappointed me.

So the moral of the story is, never accomplish anything. :p

When I was in second grade or so I wanted to be President. I'll let you know if I ever get that off the ground.

私は日本語を話すことができる。
Actually, I totally can't, I can't even read kanji. Did I get that right? XDXD

And YES Mediation is a career!!! I'm slowly coming to think about going into Mediation, one day. XDXDXD My impression is that most people get sent to mediation by courts, but I'm sure there must be people who do it of their own volition...? Hopefully. Anyway, you sit them down and act...well, as mediator. You foster discussion of their problems in a calm way, and they aren't allowed to yell at or insult each other. You act as a neutral party, and that's probably the biggest stipulation of the job (along with people skills and logic, I guess), being able to act as a truly Neutral party. Which, hello, would be my life's dream, haha. XD It's like being a Judge, only you aren't stuck with upholding the stupid law.

Anyway, those are my somewhat ignorant impressions, so if anyone knows better, correct me!

Soooo you can't speak Japanese or read kanji, but you know enough to recognize when someone is asking whether you can speak Japanese?

おもしろいですよね。。。

That sounds like a good job in theory, but it probably involves a lot of dealing with people being petty at each other. Which would make me want to smack them upside the head, and when I didn't act on that, would give me stress. Soooo. Not for me thanks.

Yeah, it's funny! :D I plugged it into a translator! Hehe.

OH hells yeah people are petty. I'm sure I would need lots of de-stressing activities. But, at least in my life, I have to deal with that shit a lot anyway when I am NOT a neutral party. Or well, I'd like to be, but I know the people involved so they're not going to treat me that way, you know? Doing that stuff with my very existence as Neutral would be squee. XD Much better than social work or law, for me. Hehe.
