The partying began Friday night after D&D. Mike made sure to wrap us up at 11:30 so we could sprint down to the Celtic Knot. We got there, by my watch, at 3 minutes to midnight. We placed ourselves at the bar, were carded (well, I was-- then the bartender got so caught up in the fact that it was my birthday that she forgot to card everyone else!).

Then there was an argument about what time it actually was. My watch said exactly midnight. Jeremy's said 11:59, so he thought we should count down. Then the bartender says, "Well, my clock says 12:01, so if you average it..."

So we just decided to toast and drink. :D

My LJ is 4 years old today! It's officially out of the toddler stage.

Also, from the Girl Who Brought You the Code Monkey Dance comes the Don't Make Me Dance Dance. It's mostly just a second pajama-dance, partly a thank-you to everyone who made the Code Monkey Dance a hit (so close to 40k hits right now! SO CLOSE!).
This one took way more takes than Code Monkey to get one I liked enough... and it was really hot in my room, too. I had to drink copious amounts of water everytime I finished a take. But it ended up being worth it, methinks.

"Lost" returns tonight. According to the commercial, this season will be all about people tackling other people. HOT.

Today, with its raining drearyness, was probably meant to be a stay-in-bed-til-noon day. And yet, I got up at 10 and went grocery shopping. Blurgh.

However, I had a mahvelous birthday, and I have pictures to prove it.

...and then we went to Blockbuster with the intention of buying one movie and got a total of 13 XD And then back to the apartment for carrot cake and The 40-Year Old Virgin. Twehee.

Also, at game last night, I learned the true feeling of having d00m come descending over me when I heard my enemies flag down an ST and say, "We need to summon someone."

I got two incredible birthday presents today. One of them, I gave myself. XD

The one I did not give myself came from adam_pb. With his mad photoshop skillz, he made a tarot deck for me. Well, just the major arcana, and it's on a poster, not actual cards. But still. So shiny.

So then I'm checking my e-mail, and I find a "Happy Birthday" message from astrology.com. Oh, that's nice, I think, assuming it's just some generic message inviting me to purchase stuff from their website. But I click it anyway. And one of the offers, as it turns out, is a free star from the Universal Star Council. As in, I get to name a star. For free. And I get to pick the constellation it's in. Joy!!*

Of course, for the official certificate and all that nifty stuff they still charged 20 dollars ("Ah, that's how they getcha," I said). But, eh. It was worth 20 bucks for something that would have normally cost upwards of 60. And it's my birthday anywhoo.

As for what I named the star? That's for me to know. And herod_the_nut to find out. Nyah.
(actually, I'll tell y'all later. But I want him to be the first to know ^__^)

I know, I know. I promise I'll shut up about my birthday. But only after it's over. :P

*In case anyone had a mind to inform me, I know the name I gave won't be used by real astronomers (them and their silly number system). Still, it's an actual star, and the website doesn't give two people the same star. So it still counts, says I.

I'm turning 20 in 5 days. Some part of my brain is trying desparetely to make me freak out about this, but it just ain't working.

I do think it's rather cool, though. Two whole decades. Which doesn't sound like much when you say it that way.

I still feel like a child.

It's weird... My parents have been pestering me for some time about what I want for my birthday, and I finally came up with something, and told them, and now I feel guilty for asking for it.
*smacks self* I should NOT be feeling guilty about asking for something I want. Especially when they've been asking for present suggestions. *eyeroll*
That something was Mother 3 by the way, which is released in Japan in 3 days. Mwahaha. The text is all gonna be in ふりがな and カタカナ (furigana and katakana, the two most basic Japanese alphabets), so I should be able to read it, or at least figure things out.

^ Just about everyone I talked about this book with had a different reaction to it, but my Dad said I would really like it, and his predictions about my taste usually turn out to be true. So I bought it yesterday at 3 PM, and finished it today at 1 XD That, my friends, is what we call a page-turner. Exciting, if not terribly well-written. And now I can say I read it before the movie came out. Huzzah.

I should probably be studying.

It's only Monday, but I already wish it were the weekend. Why?

1)) I have a paper due Thursday, so it will be done by then.
2)) DCP (which, I just discovered, I will be able to make after all. Some of it, anyway)
3)) Passover. My personal favorite of the Jewish holidays, because it's so family-oriented. For those not Jew-y enough to know, the celebration (called a seder) is a traditional dinner of sorts, with specific reasons for the specific foods and certain ceremonial things said throughout. My cousin is holding a seder on Saturday at UChicago. Since it is to be composed entirely of college students, I imagine there will be much silliness and tomfoolery dispersed throughout the ceremony. Squee.
4)) herod_the_nut's birthday is on Friday, and we are gonna par-tay in Chicago.

So, yes.
On the up-side, it is freakin' GORGEOUS today, and promises to be so throughout the week (temperature-wise, anyway. might be a little rain).

Saw the Hitchhiker's Guide movie, which is absoluetly brilliant. And I definitely have my Halloween costume for this year. I'll hardly have to buy a thing (those of you who know my wardrobe and/or the type of characters I tend to like--any guesses?).

Anyway. YESTERDAYWASMYBIRTHDAYWHEEE!!! It was pretty much like any other day, except with a lot more presents. :)
My First Present. I love Nell (rosesfade) to itty bits and pieces.
I gave out candy, I received a hand-knit scarf and the "Frogs" soundtrack and many cards, with more stuff on its way. :) Also a poster with my face on it. It is advantageous to have a film major friend, yup. XD
Munchies were desserts from a local bakery, so I did indeed have birthday cake, albeit unofficial.

And today there was pizza and a special cookie and a viewing of "Dead Poets Society". Goooood times.
