What do the Death Eaters know about you? (DETAILED!)

Wizard CelebrityDossier number: 707You're rather famous in the wizarding world, so of course there's a Death Eater file on you. However, your loyalties are as yet unknown: you're not famous for being a Voldemort supporter or a Dumbledore supporter. It's your brilliant career talents that have made you stand out: you're a good-looking face in the newspapers, a real life celebrity, fodder for the tabloids. Perhaps you've forgotten what made you so recognizable. Was it that book you wrote? That affair you had with the wizard rock star? Or maybe it was that incident with the hippogriff and the bowl of noodles...In any case, the Dark Lord would never admit it, but he does read all the articles about you because you're drawing attention away from his exploits. Or maybe he has a bit of a celebrity crush on you. Your file has very few comments in it, but rather a clipped-together mishmash of Daily Prophet articles, all featuring Y-O-U. Most of the articles are by Rita Skeeter. You love being famous, but being less of a camera-hog might be advisable at this time. The last thing you want is for the Death Eaters to show up and make you their puppet under the Imperius Curse.

Since I'm leaving for Oxford tomorrow, Everything's Eventual will have to go back to the library, so I skipped ahead and read the story of 1408. At 2 AM. And it is way, way scarier than the movie. And I read it at 2 AM.

"A life rule if you're going to read those things: during the day, near a bunny." -Dad

That may be the best advice I've gotten so far this year.

And yes, I leave for Oxford, and BADA, tomorrow. There's no internet access in the dorms. :/ There are interweb cafes around town, but time will be limited. And so I say to you, as usual: see ya on the flip-side!

I leave you with the ship-meme and a buncha quizzes.

Jack Sparrow's (mostly) loyal first mate, you spend most of your time fishing your captain out of trouble-- or fishing yourself out of whatever trouble your captain's gotten you into this time. The proverbial old salt, you've seen and heard just about everything there is during your time at sea, and you always have a story or two up your sleeve, especially when the films require some helpful expository dialogue.

The last two days have been amazing. On Sunday, the roomies and I went to the Adler Planetarium and were complete 5-year-olds. There was this section on the first floor where you could dress up in "medieval robes" and go on this playset that was like an old classroom. There was also this game where you stood in a life-sized model of a boat and had to steer by the stars. 'N stufflikethat.

Then yesterday was the Senior Week trip to Six Flags. Despite me not being a senior, Roomie!Em was able to sneak me a ticket so I could spend the day with them ^________^ We arrived at 11 AM and didn't leave until the park closed 10 hours later. I was too chicken to go on the roller-coaster that drops you from 20 stories up, but I did go on many other coasters. Superman, the first ride we went on, was crazy-fun. We also went to the water park before the sun went down.

Roomie love to the max.

Some of the things it says about me made me go "well..." But then I looked at the other possible results, and really the ones I got are more Me than the others. So yeah. Accurate-ish quiz. And pretty :D

Also, through it I have discovered what may be one of the Best Websites Evar. Of course the first thing I searched for was "hobbit hole." Of course the only one is in New Zealand. :P

Also, I'm surprised they don't have more listings for Japan... I'm sure some of those Love Hotels would at least rate a "Wacky."

Y'know what there should be? A Miyazaki-themed hotel.

It is time for a post about anime/manga. And costumes. Long time since we've had onna those, eh?

I've picked up "Angel Sanctuary" again. I'm way behind, which kind of shames me since I was so excited when it started getting translated into English (way back when I was in high school!). They've printed up to volume 18 out of 20-- I just read volume 12 today ^__^;;; Anywhoooo.

And it is making me want to cosplay. Which is good and bad. Good because costumes are fun. Bad because it's time-consuming, and nobody would know who the hell I was unless I went to an anime convention (or, well, I guess I could just have a photo shoot and post the pics online). But there's something about Setsuna in his revolutionary getup. Or Raziel. Which is, y'know, basically the same costume. XD Only difference is the hair color.

Jibril's outfit in this pic is pretty hot, but I'd probably lose patience with it. ^__^;;

And heck, Katou would be fun to be, too. And I've already got the goggles for it!!
I haven't read it for so long that I forgot-- he was my favorite character when he was around. He hasn't shown up in any significant way for at least 4 volumes. Sadface.

Aaand, just because I feel like it:

MWA-HAHAHAHAHAHAAAAA.

...No, I'm not gonna tell you.

New Thing! So I've been thinking about it since Japan, and I've decided I really would like to have a tattoo. I've always kinda been intrigued by the idea in and of itself, but I never could think of a good idea for one until last summer. Since then I've been taking the advice of Mara, who I met in Japan, who said: "Think about it a long time, then decide on something. Then think about it summore." I've had the idea for at least half a year now, and I still like it.

Here's what it would be: the Japanese characters for "Once upon a time" (or literally, "Long long ago"), with a Celtic-knot-type circle around/behind them. I figure I would get that first, and maybe later add on the same phrases in English, German and/or Celtic in small letters around the outside edge of the circle. I would also want it to not be too big, and on my lower back as close to my tailbone as possible, so as to be as unobtrusive as possible for acting purposes.

Alas, the acting factor is what makes this a tougher decision than it would be if I were, say, an Engineering major. :P I've heard that actors with tattoos can have Troubles, even if they're out of the way. But I really want it. So I think I'm gonna ask around, to Dawn or whoever else I can think of, what the general attitude is. Are tats more of an overseeable annoyance to most directors, or will a majority just turn you away for it?

If anybody out there knows anything, please to share your experience.

I already have an idea for a second one, too, though this one would have to wait until:
A) I have well established myself as primarily a singer-songwriter, thus eliminating the tattoo-worries
or B) I'm a famous enough actress that it doesn't matter how many tats I have or where they are,
cause I'd want it to be the Faery Star, right on my chest where the necklace falls when I wear it. I find this idea incredibly rockin'.

OH! Also. I've been tuning to the Music Video channel the last coupla times I've worked out in my apartment, and the other day when I turned it on, This Ain't A Scene, It's An Arms Race was on. Since then I've had it on iTunes for 2 days and it's almost up to 20 plays. The remarkable thing about it for me is I'm usually so lyrics-focused, but when I first heard this I couldn't understand a word and I still loved it.

Also the video is pretty awesome itself.

Since it was MTV, I have no doubt that this is being overplayed on the radio as we speak, but I don't listen to the radio anymore. And maybe some of you out there don't, either? Thus, I invite you to enjoy. :)

...Aaaaand now to the Japanese homework.

So hey [info]rocknlobster, it didn't take me as long to finish as I thought it would. XD

Meme: The Top 10 Fictional Characters I'd Nail.

Personally, I don't like the word "nail". But I guess by its use it's suggesting pure sex without emotional attachment or really, anything beyond skin-depp (skin-deep. wow. freudian slip, anyone?) attraction. Which, really, is tough for me to fathom. Usually my attraction to someone has quite a bit to do with the personality or character traits of said person. But I did my best.

You may notice Nick Stahl is nowhere on the list. Believe me, I considered including him, but given that my very first reaction to him was “WOW you are weird-lookin’”, I don’t think we could say it’s a shallow attraction by any means. It’s very much a respect thing, and if anything, respect should matter very little in this meme.

ALSO. There are two characters from Battlestar Galactica on here, and my little paragraphs about ‘em include spoilers for seasons 2.5 & 3. If you care about that kinda thing.

Enough talk.

The Top 10 Fictional Characters I'd... well, y'know. *giggles* )

I want to be Steve Martin in the 80s when I grow up.

....that's a contradiction in terms, I know.

Anyway! Something new to squee about: Last week, I auditioned for another student film, a senior thesis. It's a vampire film, called "Curse of the Blood Ruby". And I got in, as the main girl. I get captured by a vampire and get to kill it. With a sword. MWAHAHA.

So yeah, that's filming in February.

My character, Ashley, is described as "smart and very pretty but lacks self esteem." One wonders if my state of emotion on Friday night, when I did the call-backs, had any say in that. *shifty eyes* Mreh. But I'm feelin much better now.

ALSO! Nyack/NJ peoples, I am home from the 12th to the 29th. There must be ice skating and other jovialities. Maybe some kinda LoTR thing, as Iwe are wont to do.
